Am I loan-ready? The countdown quiz
Eight yes-or-no questions count you down from eight to zero. Land on Ready, Nearly or Get set, and get a checklist for anything you said no to.
What the quiz is really checking
Every question maps to something a lender looks at when they assess a business loan. Trading history and a clean business bank account show how the business really earns. Up-to-date BAS lodgements show you're on top of your tax. Knowing your turnover and the exact amount you need shows you've done the maths. A clear purpose shows how the loan pays its way. Property and credit history shape which loans are open to you and how big they can be.
None of these is a hard yes-or-no gate on its own. Plenty of businesses with a "no" or two still get funded. That's why step 2 of our process is a conversation with a person, not a computer saying no.
What your result means
- Ready (7–8 yes): you look organised. Run your numbers through the repayment planner, then start step 1.
- Nearly (4–6 yes): a couple of quick fixes will make your application cleaner. Fix what you can this week, or enquire now and let the expert prioritise.
- Get set (0–3 yes): worth some groundwork first. Our guide on how to get a business loan in Australia maps the whole road.
Fixing the most common "no" answers
The fastest wins are usually admin: open a dedicated business account, lodge any outstanding BAS, and pull your free credit report so nothing surprises you. Next, write your purpose down and price it properly. Our pages on business loan requirements and the documents lenders ask for go deeper on each one.
Whatever your result, the next move is the same: a 60-second enquiry with no credit check. Answer it accurately and our expert can match you properly first time, without your details being sent around to a pile of lenders.
Quiz questions
Does the quiz check my credit?
No. The quiz runs entirely in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. Our enquiry form doesn't run a credit check either. That only comes up later, if you choose to apply.
What if I score 'Get set'?
It doesn't mean no. It means a few things are worth tidying first, or that the right loan for you may be a property-secured one. Work through the checklist, or tell our expert where you're at and they'll point you to the quickest fix.
Do I need property to get a business loan?
No. Unsecured, cash-flow and line-of-credit options for trading businesses are typically $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements. Property security opens loans from $20,000 up to $5,000,000.
Why does a separate business bank account matter?
Most lenders assess smaller business loans from bank statements. When personal and business money is mixed, it's hard to see true turnover, so assessments take longer and offers can come in lower.
Ready when you are: three, two, one…
Step 1 takes about 60 seconds. There's no credit check when you first enquire, your details stay with us rather than going out to a crowd of lenders, and a real expert calls you to talk it through.
